We work with volunteers in Canada and Madagascar to create jobs for young people in the communities of Madagascar, by teaching them how to sew accessories, backpacks, tote bags and clothes. The profit from this project goes directly to support Ravinala Charity. We started this project in June 2025, and we now have 12 families who have directly benefited because they have a new breadwinner helping to support the family. And the community also benefits by receiving quality, durable and affordable products, all Malagasy-made, a source of pride.
A better future for Madagascar - Where every person has the opportunity to live with dignity, health, and hope.

We were told of a 21 year-old man, Mosesy, in Antananarivo who suffered a brain aneurysm at his construction site. Because his family was too poor to pay for testing and care at the hospital, he was left to suffer at home for 7 months.,his left side paralysed. We provided funding to have comprehensive medical testing, including CT an d MRI scans. Unfortunatly, the prognosis was that too much time had passed for Mosesy to recover, and his prognosis was that he was terminal. We then transitioned to took care of his hospice needs, including food and comforting medicines. We assisted the parents in providing funding for his funeral, and to his family. His brother Mahefa now works for Ravinala Roots.

Ravinala's project 2025-2028 is focused on building a school for K-12 students in northern Antananarivo, where many students were unable to attend school because of limited space available.
Another chronic problem is the inability of parents to pay for their children's tuition fees. We are dedicated to filling this gap, by providing a Canadian curriculum, in English and French, to give students a uniquely Canadian perspective and enhance their employment opportunities.
Ravinala's project 2025-2028 is aimed at building a new K-12 school in Antananarivo, ultimately for 200 students. Here in mid-2025, these people are making bricks for the school, numbering in the hundreds of thousands. They are proud to be part of this initiative and excited for their children, who will ultimately benefit from this new school.
